Be sure to check out our Fantasy Free Agents podcast breaking down the first week of preseason action. Here are the raw notes I took for the podcast. I cleaned them up a bit so they’re coherent. I’ll update these as more games are played. I’ll try to do this for at least the three meaningful weeks of the preseason.
Darwin Thompson put on a show in his pro debut, scoring on a 29-yard and posting 5/22 rushing. He also had a 16-yard gain wiped out
Hyde scored a goal-line TD working with the first-team offense
Mahomes completed 4/4 passes for 66 yards, including a 36-yard pass to Kelce
Second-round pick Drew Sample called for two penalties working with the second-team offense
Boyd saw 4 targets (3/25 receiving) on his only drive with Dalton, who completed 7/9 passes for 80 yards
Dak targeting Gallup on his only drive, 2/19 receiving and he drew a pass interference call on a deep ball. Gallup emerged at the end of last season and is having a strong camp too
Pollard got the start and posted 4/16 rushing
Trent Taylor recently suffered a Jones fracture, more chances for Jalen Hurd and Richie James coming. Hurd posted 3/31/2 receiving
- Henderson played behind John Kelly, Henderson had just 8 scrimmage yards on 6 touches
James Washington deep connection (43 yards) with Dobbs on the first play of the game. Washington back-shoulder TD with Rudolph and nearly had another score but toes on the chalk
Rudolph had a couple of nice throws in the red zone, bought time in the pocket on the Gentry TD
Samuels playing deep in the second quarter, Snell averaged 2.0 YPC
Perriman played next to Chris Godwin with Evans out of the lineup
Ron Jones and Barber rotated on opening series with the starters
Justin Watson couple drops
Thielen long catch down the sideline from Kirkie to set up Mattison TD catch off playaction at the goal line.

Irv Smith with 3/21 receiving on 7 targets working with the backups
Both Kamara and Lat Murray catching passes
Mike Thomas end-zone target from Bridgewater
Love the uptempo pace from Gase after using such a deliberate pace in Miami
Darnold-Crowder connection on point on opening
Anderson, Crowder, and Enunwa each played all seven snaps with Darnold
Darnold a little skittish on the last step of his dropbacks but moved well in pocket to create big plays for Herndon and Crowder
Ty Montgomery got the start with Bell out
Daniel Jones throwing with zip and confident on his dropbacks. He didn’t look like a rookie
Latimer started with Tate, 2/36 receiving with Jones
Ravens clearly focused on using Jackson as a passer in this one. Jackson 4/6 passing for 59 yards and a TD to Snead
Miles Boykin TD from Trace McSorley wiped out by a holding call
Alfred Blue played ahead of Ryquell Armstead
Sudfeld broke his left wrist and he’ll miss 6-8 weeks after surgery on Friday
Howard only starter to play and he rotated with Sanders, who came in after him

With no Davis or Walker, Mariota’s first three completions to Humphries (four connections total).
Mariota still looking uncomfortable at times and backup Tannehill lit it up in relief.
Singletary running through defenders, 9/27 rushing and 3/21 receiving. Could be the guy before long
TJ Yeldon doesn’t look long for Buffalo
Foster didn’t play a single snap with Josh Allen (18). John Brown played 17 snaps, Beasley 13, Roberts 11, Zay 9 (per Adam Levitan).
Zay Jones drop and needed evaluated for head injury on the play.
Nyheim Hines still struggling on the ground, 6/1 rushing on first three series.
Mayfield led a TD drive without OBJ and Landry, running no-huddle
Higgins caught the TD and finished with 5/98/1 receiving. He’s the clear #3 WR now that Callaway is suspended four games
Chubb nice run on a draw play, Hilliard next man up. He had a fumble but 2/28 receiving with Mayfield
Haskins nice first throw for 24 yards on his first attempt but then he throws a pick-six and another INT later when he sailed a seam route
Washington’s O-line is a hot mess without Trent Williams, didn’t help Keenum/Haskins
Kearse broken leg
TJ Hockensen and Damien Harris got the veteran treatment, didn’t play any snaps
N’Keal Harry showed some life after a rough start to camp. Posted 2/36 receiving but left early, hamstring had been acting up earlier in week
Jakobi Myers 2 TDs, one from Hoyer and one from Stidham. He’s a big slot type (4.63, 6’2”, 200 pounds). Started getting first-team snaps this week.
Maurice Harris continued his hot start to camp, caught first TD with Hoyer and 3/27/1 receiving
LaCosse got his leg rolled up but no updates
Ty Johnson ahead of Zach Zenner. Johnson could rise quick by the end of the summer
Drake working with Fitz and the starters, got the whole first series.
Ballage had a three-and-out with Fitz before working with Rosen and the backups. Ballage did score on a 1-yard TD run
Rosen taking more hits but had some big-time throws on the final drive of the first half. He completed 13/20 passes for 191 yards and 1 INT
Preston Williams (6’4”, 211 pounds) is a player to watch. Posted 4/97 receiving on 5 targets. Former five-star recruit, failed drug tests at Tennessee and transferred to Colorado State. No invite to the Combine because of a domestic violence charge in 2017.
Gesicki had a 6-yard catch on Fitz’ first pass, played 8-of-12 snaps with Fitz (per Graham Barfield)
Ito Smith 1-yard TD and Ollison 8/41/1 rushing against deep reserves
Most of the starters sat in this one except Coutee… who of course got hurt. Sounds like right ankle should be fine
Deep shot to MVS on first play of game
Crockett 6/24/1 rushing and play ahead of Higdon. Taiwan Jones played ahead of both of them but probably means nothing
Dexter Williams 14/62/1 rushing with Jones and Jamaal Williams both out with hamstring injuries

Swing tackle Fant suffered an ankle sprain
Murray and the Cardinals in the shotgun from their own 2-yard line on the opening drive.
Murray elusive in pocket and completed 6/7 passes for 44 yards
KeeSean Johnson bungled a sideline route and stepped out of bounds playing with Murray
Ekeler gashing Cardinals early but fumbled at the goal line. He still finished with a very nice 69 total yards. Jackson later scored at the goal line. Something to file away if Mel Gordon misses time.
Henry 2/15 receiving and Mike Williams had 28-yard circus catch along the sideline with Tyrod Taylor.
